I love my 2 Excursions plus our new 08 450 King Ranch
Alright, I gotta ask.... what the heck is the difference between a King Ranch and other trims? I have looked everywhere but cannot find anything that details the differences.
this ex,err carryall, I found on Flickr.com, looks to be a 1977 front end?
KE7WOX says:
That's a Carryall.
Carryalls were built in Mexico, Argentina and some other South American countries. From what I've found on the internet, Mexican Carryalls were made using B-100 trucks, which were F-100s with a full body (but they were sold by dealers as B-100s, they were not conversions), they had the added doors and windows. If you look closely, all Carryalls are badged as F-100s, and you can't remove roof like you could on a Bronco / Bronco Centuruion.
Carryalls are still common in the south/center of Mexico, but not as common as say a Suburban.
Argentinian (and South American) Carryalls are different, because the B-100 was not offered there, so the conversion shop made a custom top, and not all of the Carryalls look the same, some have fiberglass tops, steel tops, and the window type, size and layout, aswell as the doors differs based on who made the conversion.
There is, or was, a company in Brazil that was converting F-250/350s to a 4 door SUV, but I haven't been able to find the name or photos of the conversions (I did see them some time ago).
