Pulled TT with the Ex today

I pulled my 28ft TT with EX for the first time today. This thing pulls like an OX compared to my old suburban. I got the hitch-reciever set up yesterday aired the tires up to 75 lbs.and put on a couple of miles today. I noticed that this motor (v-10) likes to make power at higher rpm compared to my 6.5L diesel. With 3.73 gears the thought of using overdrive will have to be speeds above 60-65 which is ok cause the engine seems real happy at 2500 rpm. I dont know if the helwig sway bar helped or not but it seems pretty stable with the light winds today. I look forward to our trip to disney Florida this summer now that I got to test the new rig out. I never towed this trailer at speeds much over 65-70 so this set up should work out great. Just thought I would share my experience, thanks for listening.

I also tow with our "Ex". Ours does great. The Hellwig did make an improvement in ours. I also really like the improvement offered by "radius rods". Last month I finally added air springs to help lift the rear a bit.

Right now mine seems pretty level with the weight dist. bars on. I think mine are rated at 1100 lbs for the pair. The trailer I pull is a '89 and it is a little heavier than the new ones. I'll see what its like fully loaded with gear then air bags and new shocks might be next. I have 34,000 miles on her now so I think it's time.

I just got back from an 8 day, 2800+ mile trip towing our light 4,000lb trailer with the X loaded to the gills with kids, dogs, luggage, ect.... We averaged 14.51 miles per gallon of Diesel with the 7.3 4x4 X. Not bad for such a big truck and the conditions we dealt with. We were in crawling traffic jams, stop and go and lots of stop for over 10 hours total over the trip and in bad rainy weather a bunch as well. We also drove through the Mtns in VA/WVA and TN twice. The rig did great and it was never a pain to be towing, very stable.

I too towed my TT for the first time this weekend with the Ex. I thought it towed every bit as well as my F250 did (both X and truck are diesels), however I did notice a little tail wag in cross winds. I think I'll be investing in one of those Hellwig sway bars soon.

I noticed a big difference with the hellwig even running solo in a cross wind. Well worth the $.

I tow a 32' TT about 8K worth and wouldn't do it without the Heliwig. I'm running Rancho 17000 series. Even with the stock shocks the X with a 7.3 PSD pulls like an ox and is the only tow vehicle I own that can stop a TT even with a busted trailer break assist package. My unit broke on the way to VA from NJ and in stop and go traffic and a few high speed brake checks, no problem. Didn't even over heat my rotors.
