nominally 75CC they can vary evn from the factory from 74-76

and Dirt racer I know you know better then that, the D0VE-C heads are 70 or 71, 68 is C8VE and the 69 is C9VE.

Yeah brain fart on my part. I used the Tom Monroe book. I know it's not perfect. Just wasn't thinking. Even had a 70 tbird with a 429, Now in my truck.

Quick question.

I picked up a pair as well to throw on my 86 F250. Can I use the headers meant for my stock heads? Can I use the stock lifters? Is there anything else I need to think about before I toss these on?

Oh I got a 429 SCJ manifold as well and the heads have been gasket matched to it. Did you guys know that they used these parts on Boat motors until the late 70's? That's where I found this stuff...

yes the headers will fit provided they weren't hogged out to CJ sizes. Also you might want to reconsider, if they are ported to CJ size you will find they will kill the low end on an otherwise stock 460, even a mild built 460 won't like them.

As to the lifters, those are in the block NOT the heads. BUT you will need rockers for the heads (probably setup for stud mount) and you should actually measure pushrods and get the correct ones for your combination. NO your stock 86 pushrods most likely will NOT work.

Heads are complete, so don't need rockers unless I'm missing something. The lifter question was brain fade, meant pushrods. I don't think the port work is that extensive. It just looks gasket matched around the ports, you still think it's gonna kill things down low? Should I ditch the manifold?

measure your valves. if it has the bigger CJ intake valves and the bowl work to make them work right then yes.
Also the SCJ manifold takes a LOT more then just minor work to port match.

Here is a pic, the CJ is on the left, standard port on the right (PI in the middle)

Also I wouldn't use that intake for a typical truck (if your doing truck pulls that require a iron manifold then yes otherwise NO)

Yep, the port openings are that big. But they constrict pretty quickly, within a 1/4 in. It looks like they just opened up the ports and didn't blend anything. Valves are stock and the bowls look untouched. With a performer on top you think they will still suck to much air??

If I go to sell what are they worth?
