Aug 2 - Vintage Transportation Extraviganza at the Illinois Railway Museum (BIG Diesels), in Union IL, (midway between Chicago & Rockford) usually a great time weather pending, I'm pretty sure this is a pre-register show, but maybe not. Also the Windy City Chapter of the National Truck Historical Society meets there on the same day, members bring out some cool stuff to this event, vintage milk trucks, beer deliveries, fire protection equip, big rigs, etc. It's a really good time plus all the grounds are filled with antique cars & trucks and cool old trains to ride.
Aug 13-16 - Sycamore Steam Show, another family friendly event, Great food, Flea market, Parade daily, Live music, 100s of Gas Tractors, Hit & Misses, and of coarse, Steam Powered - Threshing, Sawmill, H.P. Dyno, & more, in years past there's been a section for antique cars and trucks.
Thanks for the heads up truckster. Havent been out to the railway show in quite a few years. If memory serves correct, they also run a steam locomotive and antique passenger cars around a short spur of track on the grounds, great for the kids (and us too)
