As long as you stay away from Murray/Four Seasons, you'l probably be ok.
I'm nit familiar with SCS/Frigette, but Factory Air brand from Advance Auto Parts seem to be a good reman unit.
My friend and I have been buying a lot of stuff off of Rockauto lately and like the price and the cheap shipping.. You'll save $80 or more over Advanced Auto and get a ACDelco or Motorcraft and shipping for around $8. A Motorcraft can be had for only $60 more than a Four Seasons with clutch.
My friend replaced most of his A/C components buying from Rock compared to just the compressor price at Autozone. The only thing he bought local was the oriface because Rock was sending that from a different location and charging $6 to ship a <$2 part.
Some of the 'rebuilders' use a high pressure cleaning hose, some soap, and some hot water to 'rebuild' their compressors. Yeah, a bit of an exaggeration, but in some cases not much.
The GM and Motorcraft are not a whole lot more when you factor in the time and materials it would take to replace one of the cheapies if it failed. With all the parts you are going to replace, I'd spend the extra to insure that you won't have a failure of the pump --- the sub assembly with the ONLY moving parts in the system....
