ah no worries. at least it's not a hard part to find. i've seen them still there in practically every truck i've been in at the JYs so i'm sure i'll turn one up. And it can go in last so it wont hold me.
i just cant believe i bent it!!! ha! ah well that's how it goes sometimes.
I install headliners as part of my business, may I suggest puchasing the right tool for the right job, most auto parts stores with a help rack will have it,cost should be about $10 US
i didnt have any problems pulling it off once you guys told me that the clips were really strong. I'd been expecting the piece to give more so once i knew that it was meant to be tight and was sure that there wasnt just some hidden screw someplace that i was fighting, yanking it worked just fine.
hi marine_dad...i'm actually just considering the headliner idea. I needed to take the trim piece off to reinstall the pillars (that slip under that metal piece across the windshield) but i'd been thinking of making a headliner from scratch and installing it.
I think i'll have to start a separate thread about that to see if you and others have any tips.

Your existing A pillar trims will not work and you will need a bunch of other trim panels to install a headliner in a truck that did not come with one.
we're all on the same page now! no headliner it is. i guess i'll have to figure out how to touch up the scratch in the ceiling from years of moving the sun visor
I'll have to disagree with not having a headliner. I put one in and the main reason was that when my so called "friend" painted my cab (did a crap job), he didn't paint the entire interior like I asked and it was still red instead of Wimbleton White like it is now.
It stuck out like a sore thumb and there was over spray all over the ceiling. It's easy to find a donor truck with all of the trim pieces, but could be a bit of a pain to cutout the holes (if you don't have them - mine did which is another reason I installed one) necessary for the install of some of them.
Bottom line is I like my truck so much better with it installed. It's much cleaner IMO and helps keep some of the noise out.
well screw that idea then...headliner? headliner?! i dont need no stinking headliner!
That's the idea!
I was considering putting a custom one in mine, but I really like the bare ceiling, one of the few spots where there is no rust on the truck. IMO it looks nice without it.
