do front add-a-leafs work?
IFS axles are very sensitive to height changes, what method you use other than a lift kit that drops the center pivot point by the same amount as the lift will end up with about the same results.
What was the main issue when you installed the blocks?
I know in many states blocks are illegal on the front axle.
I also know that anything that drops the ends of the axle but leave the center up where it was really messes with the alignment.
My experience is 1" is more than the factory adjustments can compensate for.
So 2.5" would be 2.5 times more than they can compensate for.
If you drive on pavement very much, it will not take long for tire wear to offset the cost of a lift kit that drops the center support of the axle.
Given the cost of lift kits, added to the 44 weak axles and ball joints I would make a serious effort to find a 60.
With a snow plow on mine I have actually paid for the 60 swap in three years in repair savings alone.
