lowering a 62...

hey there guys.

some of you may have seen the 65 i lowered.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...965-truck.html

well now i have a 62 that another client would like me to lower without bags. i have yet to peep under this truck, i presume it has twin I-beams much like the 65? if so are there any dropped twin I-beams for the 62? the rear might get an axle flip on some lowering blocks with a small pipe notch. this one will not lay out like the blue 65. we want a low stance to give this truck some attitude. its also already equipped with a Ford V-8.

thanks,
Yaril

Twin I beams did not debut until 1965.

Yes, that's what it has. You can always lower the existing suspension or it's actually a great candidate for the Dakota base suspension or the '03 & newer Crown Vic suspension. Heck even that Mustang II based suspension that you put in the 65 would work. You have lots of options and the great thing about the 61-64 is there isn't a big crossmember etc. to cut out if you want to add one of these other options. Hope that helps.

thats excellent! one thing i really hated about the 65 i did was that huge bulky cross-member that had to be removed. i am talking with the owner to find out what is under his truck. it has a V-8, if im lucky somebody already clipped it.

are there any dropped I-beams for this application?

thanks again for all the help guys!

You mean Axle? i think they are the same as 50's f100's and they make droped axle's for them.

No one Makes a 61 to 64 drop axle. Worm (cen pen) was supposed to but the deal fell through.

Dave Mann of roadsters.com is still dropping slick axles. Industrial Chassis as far as i know is not accepting any for dropping at this time.

alright, the owner has just confirmed that his truck is not a 62! its a 66! so back to plan A. hahaha, he is out of town and the truck is miles away from me. so i am trying to get him a ball park price to get this project rolling as soon as he gets back in.

can someone please post links or companies from who i can get lowered twin I-beams?

thanks and sorry for the confusion.
