I currently own a 1994 Ford Lightning that I purchased used dfm lowering ibeams for. They were falsely advertised by the individual as for 83-96 F150 lowering beams. When I got them they definitely are not for my truck.
The set I received are unequal length djm ibeams with kingpins. I called DJM up and they seem to think I have ibeams for an 80-81 f100. They stated that some 80-81 f100s came with unequal kingpin ibeams. He also informed me they have not sold these ibeams for years.
I'm looking to sell these ibeams but I do not want to sale someone the wrong parts like happened to me, so I'm trying to get as much information as possible before listing them anywhere. I was curious if any of you guys might have any additional input on these beams. Does any other ford vehicles use unequal length kingpin ibeams? Maybe econoline vans possibly? Any input or information would greatly be appreciated.
The 80/81 F100 and F150 both used kingpin I-beams. Aside from the kingpins and spindles, they are otherwise the same as the 83-96, lengthwise.
Just an FYI, there was recently someone asking about drop i-beams for a truck with kingpins. So don't be surprised if you get inquiries about these items.....
Buddy, What are you looking to get out of them? My truck is one of those kingpin trucks and I've been told the only way I can drop it is to heat or cut the coil springs, and I don't want to do either. I'm not sure I want to drop it as much as the drop beams will.
I've looked the djm ibeams up and they go for around $600 new for these trucks so I feel half that is a good starting point? These ibeams do not appear to have ever been install either, so I think somewhere around $300 obo would be fair? If you want pictures or measurements I can get them for you.
Yep, that sounds fair. Do you have part #'s or anything like that? Can you email me some pics to allen@acooperlogistics.com? How much do these beams lower the truck?
I knew it wouldn't take long for someone with a kingpin truck to jump in. Those of us with kingpin trucks have limited choices, aside from getting the newer style drop beams and later model spindles.
Personally, I'm going the other direction with my truck, by swapping in a D44......

Blue80, as far as I know these ibeams are pretty much like all DJM ibeams. All the other lowering ibeams drop the truck 3 inches.
Here is a picture of the ibeams so everyone can see.
