Twin I-beam to strait axle swap.

Twin I-beam to strait axle swap.
I have a 1997 F250 Heavy Duty 4x4. It has twin I-beam front suspension and I would like to swap it out for a Dana 60. Is a Ford dana 60 axle from a 78-85 truck similar to the Dana60 found in a 1997 F350 4x4? I am wondering because I have herd of people swaping the twin I-beam for a Dana 60 from the same year.
Thanks

the only dana 60 monobeam axle that will fit in yer truck exactly is out of an 80-97 1 ton ford. the pre 80 dana 60's have a more narrow spring pad pattern. the 99 and up is only about an inch wider so you can make that adjustment pretty easily up by the frame. the only prob with that is that the wheels on the front wont work on the back and visa versa. good luck with the swap.
