I am going to install a new boost gauge and replace the boost reading on my quadzilla standalone gauge cluster with the fuel pressure feature they offer.....
I know that the best place to take a boost reading is the intake elbow, which is easily tapped for the line.
My question:
Is it really worth upgrading to any one of the several "power elbows" (that claim better airflow) if I really have no IC upgrades? Does it really make a difference?
I saw no benefit with the full Banks Technicooler, piping, and elbow. Maybe if I had a bigger turbo and larger injectors, but not with stock equipment.
I didn't have gauges before the install, but I didn't notice any MPG or power increase. I'm sure the intercooler lowered EGTs a little, but I wouldn't bother with just an elbow. You can always polish up an '05 elbow if you want it shiny.
