I just installed a new boost gauge on my 03 6.0. I drilled and tapped the aluminum intake elbow. The problem is I can not get the gauge to give me any kind of reading. I have verified that it works by blowing into the gauge with my compressor. I also unhooked the line at the intake elbow and blew air into it to and the gauge worked fine. Why would it not be registering any boost in the elbow? Thanks!
Have you taken it out for a drive? You won't register any boost until the motor is put under a load.
Well guilty as charged. I just punched the throttle a little bit and the needle never moved from its resting place. Let me take it out for a spin. Thanks.
Well that was it. My buddies factory gauge flutters around and whatnot even at idle so I just anticipated that. Mine doesn't have any flutter to it whatsoever and stays around 3-5 psi during cruising. If I mash on the skinny pedal the most she gets to is right at 20 psi. These reading sound about right?
