So I just connected my pioneer wiring harness to a Metra Ford wiring harness tonight in preparation for installing a new head unit. When I hooked the grounds together I also added a second ground wire to the crimp that I can connected directly to the truck. Will this create ground loop since the head unit will be grounded through the factory harness and the additional wire I added?
Also, from what I have read the dash takes the sleeve bracket for the headunit, is this correct? (As opposed to screwing it in.)
You can't have too many grounds. The closer in voltage the head unit is to what any other component can get, the less voltage differential (ground loop).
A lot of apps use the cage, but you can probably go either way if your willing to make brackets.
