O/D Light Flashed, reset...No Code??

I went to the local stealership and they pulled codes from my 2001 F250 (w/ DP tuner, BTS VB, muffler delete) after my foot got a little heavy while pulling my 12K-15Klbs 36' fiver. I usually pull out real slow and get everything warmed up good but I got a little to enthusiastic and had the O/D light blinking. Stopped and check the fluid...OK and went home. After restart light was gone...drove the truck yesterday and everything seemed fine but stopped and got the code pulled anyway and they said there wasn't one. Is it possible that the O/D flashed but no code was set?

Budget, usually the OD blinks when the VSS on the rear pumpkin is bad, but if you dont have a code and everything is working ok then ??? Hopefully someone can come along with more info than me.

If the OD light was blinking, there should be a code. Who did you use to read for codes?

I sure hope you have a set of gauges. How hot did you get the trans?

There are about 50 different things that can flash the OD light. Each one is supposed to store a code in memory. The ONLY way to know what's wrong is to read the codes. I see you did and they didn't find any.

Was it flashing at a steady rate? It's supposed to flash 1/2 second on, 1/2 second off. If it is anything different from that it could be a damaged wire to the OD switch.

Yes, it was flashing at a steady rate. I am going to another dealer in the next town next week and I'll see what they come up with. I'm towing this weekend (not far 60 miles round trip) so we'll see how it goes...I'll have to take it easy (rats). Thanks for all the info...will update soon.
