Gauges Installed, Questions

finally got my gauges installed. i used sunpro sport St gauges.

- everything works good except my fuel pressure gauge. when i turn the key, it goes backwards to 100 and stays. i checked all my connections and they seem good. besides, the other gauges work fine. didn't know if anyone on here had a similar problem. thinking maybe the sending unit is not working right.

- my transmission sending unit was too long so i couldn't hook it up. going to contact sunpro on this.

- sitting in a drive through last night, my temp gauge would run up to 210. driving down the road it would stay at 198-200. is 210 a problem. it was maybe 80 outside.

- running ID extreme street tune, 1400 on the egt gauge is easy to hit.

all together i installed 5 gauges (boost, egt, trans temp, coolant temp, fuel pressure).

i will get some pictures when i have a chance..

My water temp gauge will run from 200 to 210. When towing it will sometimes hits 230 and the cooling fan kicks in and brings it down. I believe this is normal.

100 is maxed out, so what do you mean it goes backwards to 100? Mine stay at 62psi when I turn the ignition off. Next time I turn it on, they cycle down to zero and then come back up to whatever they are reading. If yours doesn't behave this way you have a wiring problem, bad sender, or possibly a stuck radiator. To diagnose the sender, plug your fuel pressure wiring into your boost sender (if they are the same, ISSPRO uses the same sending unit for both). If it reads the correct boost pressure your wiring is correct.

when i turn my key on, my egt jumps forward to 0 and my fuel pressure gauge jumps back words to 100. i unplug the sender and the gauge dies. i unplug the ground and it dies. i would say the sender is bad or the gauge. my boost is mechanical. i have an email out to tech support for sunpro.

More than likely you have a wiring problem somewhere. Positive and negative switched or signal from your sender connected incorrectly. Oh, and zero is backwards, 100 is forwards, that confused me initially.

back words LOL. my wife makes fun of my spelling. 4 year degree for nothing i guess. anyways, to me seems like the positive and negative comeing from the gauge is incorrect inside the gauge. And yes, when i turn the key, the fuel pressure gauge goes counter clockwise to 100.

Wait, so it goes negative past zero and settles to 100? My ISSPRO gauges have a pin that prevents movement past zero. Or do you mean clockwise to 100?

Triple check the wiring is correct, if it is then its either the sender or gauge. Disconnect the sender and see what the gauge does, if it does the same thing then it must be the gauge.
