temp gauge

Where is a good spot to put a temperature gauge sending unit? The gauge is a sunpro mechanical gauge and the motor is a 351m from a 78' bronco.

Is the OEM temp sending unit location not practical?

I don't think that the line will reach all the way to the front of the motor (I have not tried, just speculating).

Ahh ok. I ended up using a location in the intake manifold crossover in my 302 but I am not as familiar with the big block engines. Someone here IS though and they will chime in sooner or later.

That's what I was looking for, is somewhere in the intake if possible. If not, there is a spot in the thermostat housing. But I am not sure of the accuracy in that spot. Also, it's not just the length I am worried about in using the stock location, it's also the possible sharp bend it would take to get the line to go up the front of the block.

New water outlet in what? Are you talking about the intake manifold, thermostat housing, or water pump?

I think that is where I am going to put it at. There looks as though there is actually 2 spots in the housing.
