Diesel emissions in this state sucks, I don't understand why we have to get it done EVERY year, just dumb. The way I do mine is I just gradually rev the engine up, don't just stomp on the pedal or else you may fail, but if you just ease the RPMs up, you'll pass no problems...
great advice on the rpm,that's how I did mine last year and will do next week.

And we get the honor of doing this every year and paying the state $19 for that honor. I have 2 deisel's that have to be done every year. My 99 only had 2000 miles on it from when it was done last year.
I never bring mine up to the rev limiter for the test.
My 99 didn't come with a cat and they don't check for it.
