I haven't heard anything like that Roger. If you can get out of testing let me know, I would love to not have to do this BS.

Roger, I kinda told you what I did, same as Jimmy. Here is the post from AZPSG for theose that are interested in my take;

http://www.azpsg.com/showthread.php?p=63952#post63952

"I just went through this myself but it didnt seem so gentle. lol.

Glenn Harbor (115ave) & Glendale, pulled up and we started to go through the motions, the tech then said "go a head and hit the rev limiter so I could varifiy its still in place".

I hit 2500 rpm and let off.

BUSTED! He wasnt buying it, he told me to put my foot to the floor till it hit the limiter.

HUH?

Must not have got the memo?

Just to be an a$$, I asked "what would happen if the truck didnt have a rev limiter?". He didnt have the answer I was looking for so I asked for a manager, and the manager requested that I do the same thing. To the FLOOR!

Just to be a PITA, I got out of the truck and said, "have at it. I dont have 10 grand for a new engine, so there you go, you break it and you bought it."

The manager basically said they wont get in the drivers seat of the diesels. I asked why, and told him, "you will run the gassers u could run mine".

I just wanted to see how far we could take it. Hmmm, I double dog dare you!

After a little finger pointing, the manager told me to do what ever I had to do to give him a test. I put the skinny to 1/2 and let off, did it two more times and never went over 2500 rpm.

Got my cert and I was out."

BTW; ITP could put an emissions program on your tunner if you have the DP. It will cut the RPM's back and may do something with the fuel.

Stick to your guns and call BS! The gasser part.

They will run the gassers, there is NO reason they cant run yours, (besides the fact that an engine is near 10 G's).

Make sure you let them know that! The gasser part.
If they want to kick you out, ask for the manager, then ask for his boss. Then sit on your mobile and try to get ahold of the bosses boss.

I doubt it will go that far, but I only had experienced this one time because I'm a new diesel owner. None the less, I was like WTH, when they told me to pin it...

Just get out and stand in the little boxed room and tell them to "Have at it".

Maybe after the bozos' have a few issues, they will change the test.

BTW; Az.Oldschool put his flipflop under the skinny pedal. lol

Thanks,I just got it taken care of.They made me punch it and check for governor, then 3 passes at about 3 grand I put it to.They said that was good.My main concern was the cat,Fortunately I popped it back on,they definately check that out. They also looked at the turbo I'm thinking and measure the exhaust for some reason.Well to say the least.I passed with a 0.2.

I'm glad you passed and didn't have to redline too many times!!

You could have passed without the cat too, I have for the past 2 years.

You think they would let it slide without a cat present?

My truck didn't have a cat on it when I bought it and I don't have the desire to add one. I like the sound of the full straight pipe, even if my family doesn't. lol.

Diesel emissions in this state sucks, I don't understand why we have to get it done EVERY year, just dumb. The way I do mine is I just gradually rev the engine up, don't just stomp on the pedal or else you may fail, but if you just ease the RPMs up, you'll pass no problems...

And what's the purpose to the redlining test?
