on my 94 f-350 i put a new starter on it 4 months ago and its bad already so i took it off and took it back to advanced auto the tested it and confirmed it was junk and went to get the new one and thats when the problems started my starter has a nose cone and by what there computer says some trucks take the one with a nose cone and some take one without a nose cone he brought out the starter that was suppose to have a nose cone took it out of the box and no nose cone the starter looks completely different and the number of teeth is different than mine they claim it will work on my truck but im not sure when they bring up the parts on the computer the pic of the one with the nose cone is identical to mine and its 140.00 the one with out the nose cone is 185.00 it seams to me like the starters got boxed wrong but they couldnt figure it out up there does anybody know if these starters interchange? i would think not otherwise why would they make 2 different starters. i wanted a second opinion before i try putting this other starter on and damaging something by the way its got the 7.3 non turbo
powerstroke starter doesnt have a nose cone. The 94 model year had both the idi and powerstroke engines. Ask for a starter for a '93 f350 instead as only the idi was available.
