Ray...sorry to hear of your misfortune...sounds like a GTG in the making!!!
Can't say that I had a bad week...at least not compared to some of you other folks. I'll just thank my lucky stars and have a good thought of the rest of you!!!
1 good thing was the Dr. was a "Country Boy" and basically told me to quit doing impressions of Jeff Foxworthy's "Explosive Diarehha"!!!!! Believe me I did not want it in the 1st place!
And thanks for the well wishes!
And here's a funny thought,,,,,
Another site I go to asked me to post photos of me in the gown!
THEY DON'T WANT THAT MOONSHOT!
Well, lets see- Starting Saturday, really, first the guy who was supposed to pay me to haul his truck and therefore pay for the gas to haul my Courier home backed out. I had re-arranged a bunch of stuff to set this weekend up for that, so I went anyways. Found out mid-trip that the pilot bearing on my truck is done, every now and then it just vibrates like an imbalanced driveshaft, except it does it in neutral sitting at a stop. Loaded a bunch of junk in the Courier, and then went to load it on the trailer, but forgot how low it sits so I ripped the exhaust apart. At least it looks like crap to match the new sound. Then on the way home, I noticed a plume of smoke coming from the right rear trailer wheel area, so I pull it over quick and find a fire inside the brake. Luckily I had grabbed my fire extinguisher, and was able to get it put out before there was any excessive damage. Side note- fire extinguisher powder does not taste good. Limped it to the next exit, pulled into a truck stop and realized I forgot my jack. Unloaded the noisemaker Courier, drove back into town, spent $40 I didn't want to on a crap jack I didn't want, got back, jacked the trailer up and found the brake shoe hardware had failed, one shoe was worn almost halfway through from the side, the magnet was melted, and it was generally a mess. Luckily it was the brake and not the wheel bearing, though, so it didn't cost me any more money. Finally got home, it rained and rained all Saturday evening and Sunday, it was OK for a few hours on Monday until I had to start welding in the stairs I had been working on, so I got to weld in the rain. Still haven't been able to mow the lawn, but I did get to pack around 36 concrete steps today. I got a new lawn tractor and found it needs a starter, battery, and tube for one of the tires.
