What a crappy week....

It rained all week here and was cold for June so that really set the tone for the last few days.

On Wednesday I trashed the bumper on my '05 Escape to the tune of $750. It's getting fixed next week. I'm not going to admit how I did it but suffice it to say that it was a boneheaded move and completely my fault and 100% avoidable.

Then today I was in the process of changing a window in my garage (the 2nd one of five) when I discovered that I have about 25' of sill plate that is severely water and carpenter ant damaged due to the way it was improperly framed. No way I could leave it that way. Now I have a huge gaping hole in the back wall of my garage awaiting some major repair.

How was your week?

well lets see havn't been able to sleep more then about 4-5hrs a day all week, my back is killing me and this is the week my chiropractor decided to got on vacation (I believe on a church mission to some other country)
The weather all week was bad enough I didn't get a chance to finish sanding and getting the galaxie primered, and they cancelled the races friday night due to rain so didn't get to go racing
Sat wanted to go out with the new boat after the wife got off work, first she ended up having to work late which was actually ok I guess since it was only 63 deg and cloudy in the middle of june with threat of showers (even though the weather service said it was supposed to be 74 and mostly sunny) finally after several hours decided to pull some of the wood off the boat to refinish it and after getting deep into that project THEN the sun decides to come out and get hot and muggy since I couldn't stop and it was too late anyway to go to the lake

So all in all my weekend is great since I am still breathing

I don't know if I am glad or sorry to hear I'm not alone in this stretch of things going wrong. I went out for my traditional Sunday morning dog-walk with my son, my mutt and my friend and we walked an hour in the pouring rain. Pissed off the O.L. since the kid got soaked but it was actually very refreshing....

Found out a friend's husband is a carpenter and he is going to come give me a proposal to do the repair for me. I've got more free cash right now than I do free time so I may just pay someone to do the job right.

Maybe tomorrow will start a better week.

It was business as usual. No real bad stuff was looking my way.

Yesterday I broke even!

It was my wife's birthday- had a nice little celebration at the house.

It looks like I finally sold my boat. I got a deposit on it.

I forgot to roll down all of my trucks windows before that torrentitial rain storm last night.

Life is still good!!

Just bought a house, built in 1921.

Lets just say that the previous remodel jobs were less than professionally done. It took ripping out 5 layers to get from the bathtub surround down to bare studs.

Everything I try to do dominoes into several more projects that have to be fixed before I can do the original thing I set out to accomplish.

I find that beer helps.

The wife has been in the hospital all week. She is having respiratory problems. That is the only real negative to the week, I have a catch in my hip that hurts most of the time and not sure what it is or how it happened. Tylenol seems to be helping. May have to go to the doctor but don't have insurance since I got laid off. Wife is disabled and has medicare so she is covered.

I hate to spoil the down people are having, but I had a great week. Nothing to complain about but I don't try to make anything happen either. Just enjoy being retired on retired time.

It rained quite a bit here, last week.
Finally, blue skies and some strange, orange ball appeared in the sky on Saturday, and turned all of that rain (that didn't saturate the ground) into humidity!!!!

Since my youngest daughter graduated from High School, my wife and daughter have planned a cookout for the 20th.
Well, with that comes a list of "Honey-Do" items almost 14 pages long!!!!
And with the 'List' comes my darlin' wife and her bullwhip!

The most expensive part of all of this. . . . .
I had to put the Ranger into the shop for A/C work.
Refrigerant was low. (Slow leak, somewhere!)
New blower resistor and connector. (Rusted/welded to resistor.)
Total bill: $509.40!!!!!!!

We had severe storms to end our week here.Thousands of homes are still without electricity in the Memphis area. No deaths so I guess we were lucky

Seriously, hope you are feeling better.
