Hey all I am new here and a proud owner of a 01 Excursion V10 4x4. I am starting to do small mods...(exhaust,program and CAI) but she just turned 95,000 miles and I was wondering if there are any sensors that are week or major service needed on v10's when they hit 100,000.
Is there anything special I should know about the spark plug problems?
Poor running condition but as they wear you can also see an increase in fuel consumption. I've always felt 100K is the limit on O2 sensors. Others may disagree. With 95K on my other truck, they had to be replaced 10K ago and MPG jumped up about 5%.
My v-10 runs good and has no bad lights so how would I know it was bad? 135k miles (bought at 115 k miles). They didn't have those when I was mechanicin'
It may not be "bad" per se. If it was inoperative it would definitely set your Check Engine light.
I just feel they have a finite useful life and replacing them around 100K is solid preventative maintenance. Here's one article (of thousands) that suggests the same thing and why.
