try checking your tube that t's into your MAP sensor. sometimes if its kinked or aint got a good connection you will get low readings on your gauge

Check the boot connectors from your intake to your Y connector...

Check the connections at your turbo...

I had leaks at both areas, went from 15 to 28

28 PSI?

Your motor isn't stock is it?

My 94 PS is all stock except for the air cleaner, a 6637 and it will only make 15 max. I've been wondering if something is wrong with it too because the turbo is nowhere near as loud as my 97. Even though it says 10 less HP on the valve cover than the 97 too it feels like much more of a difference. I don't have a gauge on the 97 but I seriously doubt it's anywhere near 28 psi. It's a cali model 97 that runs like a scalded dog and is all stock other than the air cleaner.

Both my trucks have the same turbo on them too.

Running stock sticks, non-Cali. Edge chip set to their Extreme position, AFE cold air intake, 3 inch D/P with 4 inch open out the back, no intercooler, misc minor mods.

28 is hitting her as hard as I can, average under a decent punch is 18 - 23. I would think you should fairly easily see 18 - 20 unless the Cali changes really hurt the '97.

I can't remember what I hit before the changes :-(

I am sure we will hear more soon... Boys?

The Cali trucks do have bigger sticks but they are split shots. I think 120cc.

My 97 cali model makes great boost. It sounds nearly like a turbofan engine taking off when I step on it. It's the 94 powerstroke that I can't get much over 10 under normal driving. I was able to redline it hard in 4th gear going up a mountain and got 17 I think but only once. pulling my horse trailer I've never seen over 10 psi.

I know we used to consider anything over 10 normal when I worked on these for a living. 15-18 was ideal I think.

Bad injector o rings can cause low boost too. It's about the most common cause I can remember. When you are losing oil pressure by them, then it loses power. When it looses power there isn't the exhaust pressure to spool up the turbo.

I have to call BS on myself, I recollected WRONG, My MAX under load @3500 RPM is 24 PSI (not 28) Average flooring it is 15 - 18 PSI and I regularly hit 10 -12 psi.

I haden't driven her in a while as I am driving my econobox the 400 miles back and forth to work.
