There was a thread just like this 4 or so months ago. Probably the same truck being re-listed.

I would have to agree also. But there will be some poor smuck that falls for it and pays way too much. Nice truck though.

How do you know that's an 8.8?

Looks like a Dana 44 to me...and that IS original for 1977/79 F100/150's, as some of these trucks came from the factory with them.

8.8 introduced in 1983. Besides 1983 F100's, 1983 and later F150's and Broncos, some 1983/89 F250's came with 8.8's.

Personally i like the paint scheme on it... might have to transfer it to my Flareside. Was just thinking yesterday how to paint one two-tone

Three things seem strange to me, but what do I know?

If this is supposed to be a "performance" vehicle,

1. why only a single exhaust? the most basic of all performance upgrades...

2. an 80 MPH speedo? I would think that a 100 MPH or better would be an order here...

3. what would be the point of putting HEAVIER springs on it? Evans' truck probably would have had lighter springs to keep the rear end from bouncing all over creation upon landing.

I realize that this is just supposed to be a commemorative edition, but why would anyone originally pay all the extra money for a stock truck with a special paint job and a set of aluminum rims? There would have to be more to it than that for it to be truly marketable.

To increase fuel economy, Ford offered the Dana 44 in 1977/79 F100/150's with three different ratios: 2.72-1 / 2.79-1 / 3.00-1.

I've decoded at least four Warranty Plate AXLE codes to Dana 44's for members of FTE.

LOL! Why would you need a 100 MPH speedo to drive Baja? There are no existing roads, the desert terrain is rougher than a cob, half the entries break down before the race is over.

One is lucky to reach even 60 MPH on the few stretches of terrain that allow it.

These trucks were bought off the Ford dealers new car lots, then converted. They were not special ordered from Ford by Roll-Along.

Taking that into consideration, how many 1977 F100's came from the factory with dual exhausts? NONE! 100 MPH speedometers? NONE!

and in off roading many people use single exhausts incase they need to do a water crossing it keeps the water out better then dual does...
