Thanks for all your help guys. I am going to get a new VIN assigned, it costs $25. A licenced inspector has to do it though. I live in Canada, and this is what my insurance company said. They say it takes about a week. As long as you have the REGISTRATION papers for it, it's no problem. ( so they say!! ) LOL
the bad thing about assinging a new VIN is . the vin will not match the truck. If you kept the old vin the engine code, trans code, rear code gvw, ....... all this information would be correct. Now, w the vin from the new cab all that info is going to be WRONG unless it was the EXACT same truck which i highly doubt. On top of if some one does a title search there is going to be some "funny"stuff in there. just my .02

The engine might be in the vin as well as if it was a f150, 250, etc. All that other stuff is on the door jamb sticker, not the vin.
The only reason the Gov is sticky about such things is because there are some people who like to take things that are not theirs, take them apart, and use them for their own purposes and say it's their vehicle. They also like to use vehicles to commit other crimes, and when the police find the vehicle, it's nice to know where it came from and who owned it. It's the world we live in today.
I will get my hand slapped for linking to another site, but it's the only one that shows the breakdown. Ours doesn't do that. Ford VIN Decoder - F150 F250 Pickup Trucks
