Started to install my new Pioneer F-90BT in my 98 F150. Where would be the best place to tap in for the VSS signal? I don't want to degrade the signal to where it doesn't work properly. Any help would be a ++++++++.
I just installed an F90BT as well, didn't have time to hunt down the VSS signal, but plan to do it in the future. I've heard, however, it doesn't make much difference since it gets it form the GPS.

I just spent a hour on the phone with a Pioneer Engineer. He was full of information on the F-90BT. He asked why do you think Pioneer put the connection in the harness if it wasn't needed? He was very helpfully and to call him direct if I needed any other question answered. I think it is great when a Pioneer Engineer will take the time to talk to a consumer for a long time. I would buy Pioneer again.
Forgot to tell you that you can tap into the VSS wire (BLACK&GRAY) at the cruse control, I think yours is on the left fender well near the shock tower.
You don't have to pull the cluster, just find the harness under the dash that its in. Why run another wire through the firewall if you don't have to? I'd rather tap a wire in the cab than outside where it is more exposed to the elements.

Where are you tapping in for the reverse wire? Are you going to use the backup light circuit?
