Just a few weeks after announcing cut-backs and some pay cuts my company announced today a $500 allowance for GPS units since we generally travel over 50% of the year.
Question:
If you had $500 to spend on a GPS, what would you get? I am leaning towards the Garmin 765, seems pretty advanced. Keep in mind I fully intend to be frivilous and spend the whole $500. I understand some of the $100-150 units do the job just fine - but where's the fun in that?

Garmin is all I have ever used, they are user friendly and have alot of options. Usually before I buy something I check out consumer reports, and Garmin is always one of the top ones on consumer reports.
Bestbuy will hardwire it also for 45 dollars, I put mine on my left side just above the dash next to the pillion.
I'll bet your company could save some $ by making an agreement with Garman to get reduced prices for the annual updates if they contacted them and told them you/they were going with all Garmins.
