We wish him all the best, and a safe journey. The courage of him, and all the men and women like him are why we enjoy our freedoms, and why the oppressed civilizations of the world get to have a taste of it for themselves. I shall never the forget the meaning behind the insignia on my father Green Beret. "De Opresso Liber" loosely translated "liberate the opressed." A mission that America has had to undertake since the Civil War.

Couldnt say it any better, very appropriate on this 65th aniv. of D-Day.
I crossed a a couple of oceans a couple times while serving my country both north and south and east and west. I served two tours overseas and visited a couple of other countries. People don't under stand what they really have until they are out of country looking around and seeing what they truely have and should be thanking those that protect them on a daily basis. Most people are afraid of the cops because they hand out tickets, many others around the world worry because they have a death squad that will make you disapear. Reflect, our government may act stupidly sometimes( ok allot of sometimes), but they are not like the many other countries that oppress so many. Your first amendment right which you exersice every day on this forum is a privalege that many do not have.
We won't get much rain before mid Oct. We get 80% of our moisture from Feb to April. Last fall we only got 1/2" before Nov. So far this month it's been real nice. Temps around 70-80 with only a couple of 90+ days. It's actually been really nice without the 95+ temps we usually have in June!
With harvest till the first week in Aug and an engineering project I've got in late Aug I can't even think about having the GTG till early Sept. Temps should still be in the high 90, low 100's then.
It's been coming down cats and dogs. Highway 26 at the picture gorge had some car size bolders come down on the road. The mushrooms are popping up everywhere in the yard. The National Weather Service shows it getting better, up to 80 degrees over the next couple of days.
Had a milestone today for the first time since I got my 62 f100 running and drove it on a paved road. Needs more work, didn't know the brake lights weren't working, but now they do. The radiator will need to be resealed at the top of the tank seam, but I'm stoked it runs and shifts. The tabs on the plates were 1991, so she's been down for quite a while.
