7 wire harness missing wires

I recently purchased a 2000 Excursion. One of the reasons I purchased the X was to haul my camper. Hooked up the camper today and I didn't have brake or turn signal on one side of camper. Traced it back to the X and found I am missing 2 wires for the 7 pin connector plug. The red and black wires have been cut and apparently removed? Anyway, I know where the wires terminate (at the plug), but where do they originate? Do they come out from under the dash?

I believe that if you trace the wires from the plug back towards the frame, you will find a connector close to the frame rail. You can buy the short pig tail from that connector down to the plug, thus regaining the 2 missing wires.

Good luck

Sorry, I didn't go into enough details. The wires that have been cut and removed are not on the short pig tail. They are wires that feed into the connector close to the frame rail. So, the question still remains, where is the other end of these wires, where do they come from? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re-read what he said: "You can buy the short pig tail from that connector down to the plug, thus regaining the 2 missing wires."

So IF all the wires are at the frame rail, connecting a NEW pigtail will give you your connection again at the rear......By the time you posted that, you must have been tired...hey, we all do it....

Red and black are aux power and back up lights. You have a problem on the yellow wire for the left, or green wire for the right. It's also possible you have a bad bulb or socket.

Fuse?

Red and black are all too commonly skipped... its a shame, especially coming from the factory, but most people never notice.

Ford_Six is correct. The green wire is for the right turn and right brake light. The yellow wire is for the left turn and brake light. I'd check the fuses under the hood. There whould be seperate fuses for left and right turn/stop. It should be listed as TRL left turn/stop (TRL right turn/stop) or seomthing like that. The manual will tell you where to find it.
