On my 97 F-250 XLT you can roll the windows down but they won't go back up from the drivers side control, the passenger side control works however.
Any body had a similar problem?
What the most likely problem is bad armature in the window motor! It will get a dead spot and then the window no longer will work! I used bang on the door panel and sometimes would work again! Finally bit the bullet and put in a rebuilt 0ne! Easy job works fine now!
the problem extends over to the passenger window, you can roll it down but not up, however if you go over to the passenger control then you can roll it up
I have a similar problem. Passenger side goes down fine with both switches. Will not go up no matter what switch I use D or P side. I have to tap hard on the switches in the up position to get it to work. Once its up it stays up unless I absolutely have to put it down. How much are these switches and are they hard to install?
I swapped the passenger and driver side switches and the drivers side worked and passenger didn't, then swapped them back, and it went back to original problem so it appears it is the switch.
Thanks to all who pitched in they're info.
Hope Ican return the favor in the future
