Hey everyone I'm james I own a base model 2007 ford f150 xl with manual windows... I recently invested into a power window conversion I bought the following:
Electric Life 4990-10-421 2 door power window switch kit
And I bought OEM regulators with motors
So my problem is wiring. Both motors work ... everything is about done and installed easy but everytime I try to roll up/down the window from the drivers side control I blow a fuse. I had to add a ground onto the passenger side window switch allow it to function from the passenger side control. I have followed the wiring diagram ... checked my wires numerous times I am stumped.. any help would be greatly appreciated ... it's a simple 12v circuit.. just to for me.
I have swapped all the controls around and gotten the same thing ... the control for the passenger window blows a fuse... but if I use the window control on the passenger door it works...
I also removed the ground I had put in. So I'm identical to the wiring diagram the passenger windows stays down won't go up and if I use the control on the drivers side.. I blow fuse.. any help would be appreciated
I'm curious, how has the kit held up? I'm considering getting it.
It's a rocker switch. A rocker switch can't work if it can't rock. I folded up and stuck small pieces of duct tape under each end of the rocker switch and voila disabled. Another use for duct tape! Or, if this switch ain't rockin' don't come a knockn'
