After 31yrs it's a safe assumption the springs are fatigued, this may be hard to see but step back from the front of your truck 10-15 feet and kneel down and take a look, do the tires lean inward like so / \ even slightly? is your front end "bouncy" or relatively stiff?

NAPA or any parts house of your choosing should be able to get springs for you, if you have a local spring shop i'd try there first and you'll most likely save yourself a few bucks over the parts stores.
