three speed transmision
is there a 5 speed that will bolt to my 65 240??

I have read about guy's using a T5 trans. dont know how they fit, or if you need to modify anything.

Late Model small block pattern 300 302 351 ZF truck trans will bolt right up. Your 240 shares the same bell housing pattern.
You would need to add the hydraulic clutch master cylinder to the firewall and add a actuation rod.
There is a stock hydraulic clutch stamping in all 61 to 66 firewalls.
And you will need a four speed trans pan.
Simple upgrade.
