I picked up a pretty good deal last night, two complete 351W engines.one is a 2bbrl with smogger heads, the other is a 4bblr with no ports for the air lines,I have a few numbers of the 4bblr engine and I was wondering if they mean anything to anyone.
E4TE-9425-BB intake
E3 is on the back of the block
4C28 looks to be the number on the heads
now maybe these numbers mean nothing, these are the first 351W engines I have ever had.any info anyone has will be greatly appreciated.
If it's a complete 351HO it's a pretty good package, had a decent cam so it'll respond well to exhaust upgrades, but otherwise it's fairly unremarkable... the heads are nothing special and CR is 8.5-8.8:1.
P.S. Head casting numbers are on the gasket side near one of the center intake ports, so you need the intake off to see them at the very least.
great, thanks for the info paul.I am just going to tear them apart and keep them kicking around.the price of free was a deal at least.I may in the future decide to build one for my 78.but I will pull the intake and get the numbers of the heads.thanks again.
