351w head casting numbers...

Hey fellas, Looking at some heads for my friend that an old engine builder is selling and hes had them in it back store room for some time, he says there from a boat that had a 351w.
I got the cast numbers but can't find any info on the heads.

On the intake side it says
FOJE
AA

Mean anything to anyone

I think inside the valve galley it says 308 and to the left is WC

Thanks.
Clint

found this on E-bay..

the Guy is selling a manual

This is a Ford COMPLETE service manual for the 302 and 351 CID industrial and marine engines produced by ford. These engines are used in omc mercruiser and other companies for the propulsion packages as well as industrial uses.

so they might be marine heads, if they are any different from regular heads who knows..........

Would they be good for a build. my friend is building an engine for his work truck and he wants low to midrange torque. Nothing much just better than stock e7s.

as long as emissions checks arent an issue those heads would be fine... industrial engines dont have the same emissions standards as car engines

The relatively small ports on the stock E7 heads are actually very good for producing good low to midrange torque on lightly modified engines(cam upgrade).

Kinda figured since these were boat heads then they would be perfect for low end torque. Also hes building for an 89 and is keeping the fuel injection also converting to mass air. His other choice was a set gt40P heads but he would have to be carefull on what headers he buys as the spark plugs comestraight out.

Any of ya'll think those boat heads would work on his truck or go with the gt40p?
He has e7s but wanted a bit more.

The boat heads will work.. but if there will be any gains is another story. Why not just port the E7s? They work as well as the GT40s with a pocket port, air injection hump removal and general cleanup on the exhaust side. What motor are these on? Does it have enough cam to get the most out of the E7s?

Well hes getting ready to build the motor but was looking at options.
I think the heads he has have a burnt valve and he was looking at new ones.
You think the gt40p are any good over the e7s
We havent had any luck finding gt40 heads and the ps you cant use some headers.
