Won't start

I have a 1983 Econoline 250 van with a 302 engine that won't run. It will start momentarily but then the engine cuts out. It seems starved for gas but the tank is full.

bad fuel pump or clogged filter?

Thanks for the input ; it certainly makes sense . Almost dark now , will test tomorrow . thanks again , pnxt

p.s. disconnect coil wire
disconnect output fuel pump
turn ignition key

Does this sound OK ? pnxt

Was this just something that happened when u went out to start up? Where there any problems before it wouldn't start?
