Sorry fellas, searched the internet and the forums and found nothing helpful. But what in the world is the high ryder option? Is it only on 2wd rangers? Or maybe I shoould ask how I can tell if my Ranger has that option... I'd never heard of it before till I started searchin for some new shocks since I basically completely lost my rear left one, and I mean literally lost.
Well, I drive a 87 4x4 "supercab" with the 2.9 in it. I don't think it's the high ryder deal as it sits roughly equal in height with any of the local 80s 4x4 rangers. But I don't want to waste my money on the wrong parts either. I can tell it was painted it's present color at some point in the past so any paint/decal indications that it was an stx are long gone. I don't know how to post pictures on here but you can see it at kaoticcustomsia.4t.com in the "my photos" section if that helps. Thanks boys and girls
87-89 4x4 ranger's with the STX package could have had the high rider package. some of them did, some of them did not. the 89 were called sport riders.
all it was really was a factory levling kit. aprx 1.5 of lift over the "normal" rangers.
how to tell if your truck is a high rider is to look at the piviot brackets both the beam brackets, and the radius arm brackets.
the radius arm brackets will have a block rivited in, to make a spacer.
here are some pics of the piviots.
also anouther thing that came with the highrider was a droped pitman arm.Pretty much the same drop as the 4 inch lift kits come with.
