Gabriel Shocks - Input required

Hi All,
I am looking for some input on some shocks. I need a new set for the front of my 1979 Ford F-150 2WD. It has about 150,000 K.M.'s on it.
I have been looking around and have come across Gabriel Red Ryder and Silver E shocks.
What can people tell me about these - any info appreciated as I am un-familiar with the brand. Information can be on good, bad or otherwise.

I have Gabrial Gas Rider Light trucks with VST on my '84 and they are a pretty good shock. Don't ride to good but they keep the wheels planted the way I like them.

When I was searching for shocks I was told by many to stay away from the Gabriels. I chose rancho's RS 5000 for the cheap price and they have a good reputation. The Monroe Reflex (NOT the sensatrac) are also a good shock but are about twice the price as the ranchos. The sensetracs are good shocks too but too weak for trucks.

Primary rig is Green Thunder:

Sounds like Gabriels aren't a good choice. Any suggestions?

I suggest the RS 5000's from rancho if you're looking to spend about 35 dollars a shock. If you would want to pay 50-60, you can get the reflex from monroe but I don't think that they are worth the extra money over the ranchos. They are twice the price but certainly not x2's better.

I'm very happy with my Bilsteins, but they do ride a bit stiffly. They have nearly eliminated the tendency of the twin I-beam front axles to twitch sideways on big potholes, etc.
