Well riggz I put over 40,000 miles on my gasser an I checked my mileage quite frequently after a fillup and I know for a fact it helped the mileage out. Now all I am stating is my 06 seems to be picking up a little I will know more in a few tanks. I removed all that old exhaust off myself and I thought it looked very restrictive.

This story is the biggest reason I put a bigger exhaust on my truck

A gasser is nothing like a turbo diesel. Bigger less restrictive exhaust on the 6.0 helps out in the EGTs. The mileage gain however will hardly be noticeable. If you drive it differently you will gain mpgs yes, but you would gain them if you didn't do the exhaust as well. Its the same concept as installing an aftermarket air filter. It flows enough air, however companies claim 2-3mpg gains. If you added up all the mpg gains claimed by every aftermarket part you would have a 30mpg 6.0L.

Fellas,
I just bought a 05 psd Lariet 4x4 with 112,000 miles on it. The truck is in good shape. It has an EDGE chip and K&N air filter, other than that is completely stock. I want to upgrade the exhaust. My main & only reason for doing so is to lower the EGT's prolonging the life of the engine. I plan on keeping the truck for a very long time. I HAVE NO IDEA how to begin to select an exhaust. Which brand/size do you guys recommend? What things to do you look for? I don't need anything too fancy and don't want anything thats real lould. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot

AFE sent me 2 exhaust systems. 3.5'' downpipe to 4'' exhaust turbo back. I put a 5'' tip on it and it sound awesome. You can hear the turbo well just idleing around and when you jump on it it sounds like you're running a cherry bomb. Not loud at all but smooth mellow tone. If interested ring 9185216734.

I got a 4in downpipe in my 04 it took some persuasion on the pipe to get it in.. but once it it fits fine but close.

I realy dont know if there are any real benefits with the 4in over the 3.5 downpipes I would assume that it would drop EGT's a bit because when the pipe come out of the torbo it flares out rather than goes strait.
