The part number for mine is 82643 but they do not have that style anymore. I also got a chrome bezel from VDO that I put it in and then I mounted it on the steering column. I think it looks nice.
As for belt slippage I do not think there is any with stay up to and under 3300 rpm. I could see maybe 6 or 7k but not 3k, but i guess it depends on how fast the motor revs too. Might doesn't slip or else I would think the tach jumps around and I do not thing autometer would sell them if that were the case.
I would like some info on these other options too. Im putting a 7.3 in my 79 and no factory diesel dash tach available.... werent the factory ones cable driven? Im not sure i like the idea of a little magnet super glued to the balancer...
