as far as im aware my truck is running great its an 85 one ton dually 4x4 crew cab with a 6.9l but i want bigger injectors anyone know where i can find them???
another question i have is my brakes just aint right i having good pads and rotors, shoes and drums new calipers new wheel cylinders and new master cylinder i also adjusting the rears nice and tight but my pedal is still mushy as hell after i replaced everything i listed it was working pretty damn good for a few days but then i was driving hit the brakes they were hard then went back to mush any ideas please help!!!
stuntman88,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.
If you get any black smoke out of the exhaust, you already have more fuel than you can burn with the amount of air in the engine.
More power would mean you need more air in the cylinders to burn the fuel.
As for the brakes are you loosing any fluid?
Did you change any of the rubber brake hoses?
i bled the brakes multiple times and yesterday i got under the truck and checked out every line and found there was a pinhole in the line running to the rears thank you im gunna be working on that tomorrow
the hoses werent collapsed and i wasnt really losing fluid but i did find a pin hole not enugh to dumo fluid but enough to were i had no brake pressure and im looking into getting a turbo and wanted to upgrade the injectors also that why i was asking i probably should have stated that before hand my bad and yes i have a lil coal blowing out the exhaust right now i cranked the injector pump a lil less than a quarter turn with the ease of doing that im very pleased witht he result lil but more power and a good smoke when i punch it so im satisfied
mine is about that and i have just a slight gray haze when i mash the pedal. before i did the intake i reckon it would have smoked heavily but i also have G code injectors.
its not very heavy unless i put it to the floor the i get a good puff going i gained a lil power over stock but i wanna look into injector for when i pick up the turbo kit because all that boost ont dont much good unless i got the injectors to give me enough fuel is there a company anyone prefers for 6.9l upgrades?? i know there isnt a whole lot u can do to them but im having trouble finding anyhting
