Hello All, I need to replace the leaking seals on my rear axle. I'm not sure which one i have. A forum and google search did not help. This is for my '78 F150. The gears would come out through the front of the pumpkin not the rear. There's 10 bolts on the outer cover and 5 bolts on the small front cover that goes to the drive shaft.
Here's the tag code:

I would guess that the "378" is for 3.78 gears? The rest i have no clue about.
Tidbit... even when a Chebby, Yota, or Dodge wins a race in NASCAR, Ford also wins because all of 'em use a Ford 9-inch axle. IMO, they're darn near bomb-proof when built to withstand the abuse.
I'm sure a D60 fan will chime in and start flaming...... wait for it......
