Alright, here it is. I know I broke down and went for the easy way out. $8.95 at O'Reilly's. Screwed to the dog house. It adjusts big enought to put a bowl of soup in the SOB. I am not proud of it, but i will give it a chance, might put some grippys in it though....

What I wonder about is why does my '07 F150 Flareside have simyular drink holders in .... the tailgate?

All i got is the window hanger...modified by cutting the "hanger" off and removing a screw from the steering column by the dash and then attaching the cup holder to that with the same screw....
Did that 9 years ago and still use it!

I built one out of wood for my F450 and i was going to put it in the 79 to see how it fits but havent yet to get a temp plate.

I like your door panels! The plastic ones break easy and just dont cut it. I never seen a ford with the steering wheel on the right side.

Thank you LITTLE BLACK TRUCK.

I got a nice surprise with the solid feel and noise reduction.

Don't get me started about the plastic ones !

RHD drives are great in RHD countries but driving in European cities which is LHD was a real nightmare.

Here's my new full hillbilly Big Gulp holder. It's the bottom of a Baldwin oil filter from a 7.3. With 1/8" vacuum line for an edge liner it's the perfect diameter.

Hmmm. Oil filter, huh? I have been eyeballing coffee cans and such considering just what you have done. I never even thought about oil filters.

I was looking around my shed at the truck yard for something to use and saw my pile of filters draining in a pan and the light went off (or blew out) in my head. The big CAT one was too big and the Cummins 6BT one was too small, but the PS one was just right. The one in the pic ended up being a little too short and the cup was kinda wobbly but I happened to changed the oil in the wife's pickup yesterday so I made a new one today that is taller and holds the cup better. I know it's cheesy but it's more solid than any piece of chinese (lower case c on purpose) plastic and suits my needs.

The beauty of your idea is that even if you went and bought a brand new one, it is still a cheap start to a really strong cupholder

Yup, and I'm being "green" by reusing. Now the hippies and prius (pious?) driving weenies can't be mad about my old eco unfriendly truck.
