cup holders
anyone else have a problem with the in dash slide out cup holders?i have a 2000 f350 and i have a flip down center console wit no cup holders in it.the ones in the dash are not high enough.(24 oz. coffee)is it possible to change the top of the console to a later year w/cup holders?.i have leather interior.any ideas?

Yes the factory dash cupholders suck. You can also buy sometype of aftermarket console and place it forward of the seat or be creative and build something yourself like I did. It's not fancy but do a search and find ideas of others who have built there own. Here is mine.

there is a redesign dash cup holder. does ours look like a batman logo when puled out or does it have spring loaded lever arms to hod cups?

I got a new one from Ford last year and it was $119.00 OUCH. Check genos garage one of our sponsors they have one that goes on the center arm rest of the 40/20/40 seats thats like $36.00.

If you have the original model slide out cup holder with the rubber mouse ears (aka cup thrower), you want to get the later version with the spring fingers to hold the sides of the cup and the drop down tabs that hold the bottom of the cup. My 2000 came with the mouse ear version and it's NFG. The later years got the improved version and it's a direct replacement. The p/n for Parchment is YC3Z2513560CAB, DirectFordParts sells it for $58.52 plus s/h.

vfirlth,mine springs open when you pull the whole thing out.it also has some kind of rubber tabs that i guess are suppose to secure my coffee.probably would'nt be bad if it was'nt only an inch high.one inch in the holder and eight inches of black coffee sticking above the holder.
