For towing less than 10K the 3.73 is perfect. I have the 4.10 to compensate for the 35' tires, which put me relatively close to the stock ratio and it no longer downshifts on every incline. One person went with the 4.30 on 35's and atually had so much gear they went and paid for another swap to the 4.10.

Umm...might wanna look again. 4.10s were never offered with the V10 Excursion. The V8, yeah...the E-series with the V10...yeah. But never for us Excursionites.

They should have. I have effectively a 4.20 ratio and it's perfect!

It says 410 on the top line but i guess it's for something else. It doesn't feel like 4.10s either. Nothing under axle on the door. It must be 3.73s. What happened to the old 4.11s? Is it 4.10 & 1/2 or something?

i'm a happy new (to me) EX owner. mine is an 02 and everything "was" all factory, lol. but the axle tags are still on my diffs. i checked the door panel after i got it, and i could almost make out a C3, BUT it was pretty smudged so i checked the front chunk.......... BIG 'ol 4.30 right on the tag.

i haven't jacked up the rear end to check the limited-slip part of it yet, but i'm tickled to have the factory 4.30's even if i don't have the LS. i'm running a 265/75/16 BF Goodrich (basically a 31.5), and as of right now, i'll leave it at that.

when i first started driving it, i had to learn to keep my foot out of it, my old 92 Z71, i had to push alittle more on the go-pedal than i do the EX, you'll get up to road speed quick, fast, and in a hurray with those 4.30's!!

Jason, if you have a consonant as the first digit in the axle code you have a limited slip.

EXv10, V10 gears choices were 3.73 or 4.30.
