hurst 3sp. mounting bracket broke!
today while driving my '82 f-150 w/ 300ci. i6 and converted '83 3sp. tranny w/ hurst indy shifter, my shifter suddenly had too much play shifting into 3rd. gear. then i couldnt find 1st gear downshifting. so i stopped and to my amazement, found the mounting bracket thats attached to the tranny and to the pivit bolt sheared off at the bolts to the front of the tailshaft. i'm thinking of just calling hurst and telling them what happened. then i might just fab a new bracket thats stronger. maybe from 4130 chromly. can i have some opinions here please.
