starting issues

I have a 2000 F250 200K miles SD 5.4 I drove the truck home last night turned off. In the mornig hoped in and hit the key. All dash lights went on - but no starter. Checked that i was in park - brake. Checked battery - tested good, replaced starter (i replaced the starter as it was the original). Checked all fuses and they are good.
What am I missing?

Depends, do you have an alarm system? Most modern alarms have a starter disable, if your lucky your installer run a fused wire to the battery that you can pull the fuse and disable the disable. Then I believe there is also an anti-grind relay in the fuse box, or at least my truck will not let me turn the starter once the engine is running.

no alarm system on the truck.
I also placed a test light on the starting solenoid on the starter. I used the ground on the block and tested the positive and it is good. there is a small wire and tested it - no light. it acts likd a ground. then went to the solenoid on the fender - grounded the light to the bat. neg. tested the large wire and it is good, tested the small wire and nothing (it acts like a ground). is there a relay that I an missing to check or would it be the fender solenoid????

So the large gauge wire from the battery to starter mounted solenoid has voltage.

When you tested the trigger wires, was that with the key turned? Unless the key is in the starter position, the trigger wires should not be energized. If your not getting power when the key is forward, then you need to start moving relays around to check for them.

It was the fender starting soleniod (2000 does not list a fender solenoid - but a 1999 does)

Just to be sure, what do you mean that you checked the battery? Have you tried jumping?
