I have a 2000 F250. Once it is started and running, the starter will not shut off. I have already replaced the starter relay soleniod, check all fuses and put on a new starter. Nothing worked to this point. Can you help?

Reason: Adding year of truck
There are two solenoids one on the fender wall and one on the starter. If you disconnect the small wire on the solenoid on the fender and run a jumper from the battery+ to the solenoid that will simulate turning the key. Jump it with the key off and see what happens. The engine should turn and stop when you remove the wire.
Let us know.
what seems to be happening is my ground is not cutting off when starter starts engine leaving starter engaged. if i pull ground off of starter starter shuts off. my tach omoter is also showing buried on 6 could this have something to do with this.
You mean the hot wire not the ground. The ground is the engine block and anything metal. Sound like a key sw issue. Any goodies on truck like remote starter?
