Water pump...

Before I start phoning and getting prices which probably are around $750 - $800
...Do you think BARS LEAK would work?? or should I just order in the Rad and be done with it??
Can I order it from any Parts Store or is this another Ford only part??
Good brass radiators like ours can be repaired easily.
Locally the radiator shop gives much better prices on new radiators than NAPA or any of the other parts houses do.
What kind of job is it?!?!
There's 3 Rads in all

What about the A/C??
Is this just a drain, disconnect, remove, replace and refill??
Or is there more to it than that before I rip it out?
Now unbolt the fan shroud and let it hang on the fan close to the engine.
Now remove the bolt that hold the radiator to the radiator support.
The radiator will lift out of the cradle.
Try to have either a helper or a sturdy platform to stand on when you lift it out.
It is a bit awkward to handle and you don't want to drop it.
A 4x4 is high enough that it makes things interesting while holding the radiator and trying to step down.
The radiator comes up the rear of the radiator shell, so the AC condensor stays right where it is.
First time, 30 minute job to remove.
I'm on afternoon shift this week and it's raining today so I'm hoping tommorrow morning I'll have a chance to do it.
Sounds easy enough I'll post back when I start on it
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Folds up, two steel deck plates, 3 levels and locking casters.
Not to mention it also makes a great table, add a some plywood to the lower level to put stuff on, stand on the mid level, A single plank on the top for wrenches/laying on.
Handy lil bugger!

I built 3 benches,1 for in front and 2 on either side of the truck that all connect.
It enables me to have good footing and puts me at a perfect level for wrenching under the hood.
I like the shelf idea though as theres really no place to set your tools down with easy access to grab them when needed.
It works real good.
Next time I use it I'm going to put a couple ladder brackets on it for a better at height table.
My dad is Paralyzed and he created this U shaped table that he can lay on and hang his arms down into an engine compartment, It's pretty cool, even has hydraulics made with the hydraulic setup that was used on some old car with a removable hard top (A retractable I think it was called) as well as an old Ford starter motor that motivates it, just a simple lever for steering.
He's a nut! A loose one at that!
But he's pops!

I got it out no problem, took about 40min and it was out.
Took it to a Rad Shop in Prince George on saturday and he cleaned, soldered, and painted it.
It's back in and alls good

Thanks for the help everyone !
I'd never tackle any of these jobs without your help
Festus I think that scaffold you are talking about is called a Baker's scaffold.
Several of the drywall crews around here use them to set their mud on for the guys wearing stilts.
That way they don't have to remove the stilts to get to the mud buckets.
Never did figure out where the Bakers Scaffold name came from though.
I have an aluminum and plywood table that folds up flat for storage and is bumper height when unfolded.
Sure does make it a lot easier to work under the hood on a 4x4.

One more area and I'm DONE with the mud, a little sanding and my drywall nightmare will be over!

Can I get away with no special tool, if I use a wrench while the belts are all still installed to hold everything still? (on the picture posted earlier in this thread, at the point marked 'wrench')
I'll try to find a tool to borrow, as I buy coolant and RTV, if it's needed.
Thanks!
