Does anyone know if there is a double din Ford Navigation Unit that will fit in my EX??? I currently have the 6-Disc changer and the full Theater system in back. Did Ford have a Navigation option for this model year EX? If so, do you know the part number and where I can get one?
It would be a lot easier to go with an aftermaket unit like Kenwood or Pioneer. They have features like bluetooth, satellite radio, traffic info and ipod control. They can be intergrated to work with your video system and steering wheel controls too.

Yeah, that is what I am seeing when I research things on the interweb. Any suggestions on a good aftermarket head unit that keeps use of the dvd theater system, controls on steering wheel, and navigation?
I have the pioneer AVIC in mine. Works great. Pictures in gallery. Has all the features - Sirius, steering wheel controls, integrates with the rear dvd unit (or operates independently) and is hooked up to backup camera. I yanked the bluetooth feature because I got tired of it answering my phone as I couldn't really hear that way over the PSD. Several others on here have this unit also - there's a few threads on this somewhere...

Thanks for the suggestion. Did you do the install yourself? When you bought it, did it come with all the wiring adapters needed, or were those a seperate purchase??
I have the AVIC D3, they don't make that anymore. If I was going to do it over, I'd go with the Kenwood DNX7140 unit. If you want to intergrate to work with everything, take it to a professional install shop. NOT BESTBUY!
Mumbo is correct, as I have the D-3 also -- they don't manufacture it anymore, but many shops around here still have them (they replaced with another model). I did not do the install myself - had a guy I've used to put in car alarms, remote starts, etc. do the work - I was home that day and watched him do a good portion of it - it wasn't a nightmare, in his opinion. I did order the ipod control later and added that myself as I did the Mito reverse camera - that was a simple plugin to the video jack. I'm happy with the unit and features and enjoy my Sirius weather and traffic. For the most part, however, I think the navigation itself is inferior to other products. There's an update disk which I need to order and am going to when I dig the email up they sent me. Our other vehicles have far superior routing and points of interest - I'm hoping the $199 or whatever they wanted for the update is worth it.
I have a pioneer avic z1 with a 7" touch screen. Has nav, sat radio, rear camera system and burns and stores up to 10,000 songs in library. Will also support rear dvd system and split the sound between front and back. Looks completly factory with professional installation. I am kind of **** with anything that looks half *** or aftermarket. You can prob find new or used models on ebay. However, i paid about $3000.00 when new a few years back. I would post pics, however, my computer will not accept pics transferred onto this forum for some reason.
Installed a Kenwood Excelon DMX958XR a few weeks ago. Maintains use of the rear entertainment system and steering wheel controls. Had professionally installed along with a backup camera.
Installed a JVC 780BT touch screen unit a few weeks ago too. Installed backup camera, ran RCAs from factory dvd system to unit, and also a video output from new unit to DVD system... i decided to install a separate switch in the dash, so I could switch on the backup camera whenever I wanted too. The steering wheel controls were easy to do. Very happy with it. Probably have around $500 in everything.

did you have to cut the dashboard to make the new radio fit?
